about

Appealing to both classical and jazz audiences, Jazz Preludes for Piano bring new life to the legacy of George Gershwin. Completely written without improvisation, the 17 preludes encompass a wide variety of Jazz styles rarely heard in the new repertoire for classical piano.

Each Prelude is written in a distinct rhythm: ♦ Ragtime ♦ Swing ♦ Tango ♦ Jazz-Waltz ♦ Latin-Jazz ♦ Mambo ♦ Samba ♦ Jazz-Rock ♦ Bebop and ♦ Ballads in the style of Bill Evans. The classical influences include Gottschalk, Joplin, Gershwin and Ravel.

Listeners have commented about this album:
“I listened to it twice in a row.”
“It suggests stories and stirs up memories and reflections.”
“It saved my marriage!”
“They have unexpected turns of harmony with undercurrents of searching.”
“Written in the tradition of Gershwin and Ellington.”

In addition to classical and jazz works, Lee has composed and performed an extensive repertoire for his self-designed electric flute. See a well catagorized list of all his works with links to recordings, videos, scores and parts at: www.eclectixnyc.org/WorksAndPerformances-withLinks.html
